FOOTBALL CLUB

WHAT IS LA CITY UNITED

LA City United is an elite soccer club designed to develop players to represent the City of Los Angeles at the highest levels in the SoCal and US Club Soccer leagues. We will play outside of the LA Rec & Parks leagues. It’s also the first soccer program in the country to be supported and subsidized by a city.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS

Our goal, along with LA Rec & Parks, is to bring equal recognition and opportunities to youth all over Los Angeles, and to expand the heights of our players exposure at the regional, state and national levels.

HOW LA CITY UNITED WORKS

2024 is our inaugural year and will serve as a pilot program for the development of boys ages 7 to 17 years old. Once established, the club will expand to each of the 4 regions throughout LA. After doing so, we will create a Super Team in each age group that will compete at the highest levels nationwide. Once the curriculum for the program is established, we will distribute this content to the RAP programs.

WHERE WE PLAY

LA City United will start training in South LA at the Michelle and Barack Obama Sports Complex: 5001 Obama Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90016. As the program expands, so will the number of training centers across LA.

WHEN WE TRAIN

This is an elite club and we will train year-round, two nights a week minimum. League and tournament play will primarily be in spring and fall/winter months. Tryouts will be annually in February. Stay tuned for dates.

FEES & TUITION

RAP will be covering a substantial portion of the player’s club tuition and will cover tournament fees. There is no other club where this happens, and the savings with LA City United will be significant compared to other LA-based clubs. Please note: RAP does not cover food or travel expenses. However, we are investigating potential support options for qualifying players, including subsidized transportation.
