The Department of Recreation and Parks operates 29 senior citizen centers throughout the City. In addition, these centers offer activities, programs, and special events such as shuffleboard, croquet, arts and crafts, zumba, line dancing, language lessons, oil painting, entertainment, and social dancing. Some senior citizen centers offer a nutrition program through the Department of Aging.
