Affordable Housing
New residential dwelling units which are rented or sold to persons or household of very-low, low, or moderate income may be eligible to receive an affordable housing exemption for the park fee and land dedication requirement (Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 12.33 G). Dwelling units must be restricted at or below 120% of the Area Median Income for 55 years or longer via a covenant acceptable to the Los Angeles Housing Department. In projects with a mix of market-rate and affordable housing units, only the affordable housing units are eligible to receive this exemption. Applicants requesting an exemption for affordable housing units should note the affordable units on the Park Fee Calculation Application via the Los Angeles RAP OpenGov Portal and are required to provide a copy of the recorded covenant with the Los Angeles Housing Department.
Applicants can make an appointment for Covenant and Agreement Signatures by RAP Staff and Recorded Covenant and Agreement Drop-Off in the BuildLA Appointment System: https://appointments.lacity.org/apptsys/Public/Account
