The City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Therapeutic Section offers a variety of activities throughout the year at three locations: Valley Therapeutic Recreation Center, Elysian Park Therapeutic Recreation Center, & Martin Luther King Jr. Therapeutic Recreation Center. Program participants range from children ages 5 to adults. For programs that may be appropriate for you and your family call the Therapeutic Section for additional information (213) 485-7512.
The Therapeutic Recreation Section encourages our consumers with disabilities to integrate into classes and programs offered at their local community recreation center and swimming pool. However, for those who prefer, we offer specialized therapeutic recreation opportunities. In these programs, people with disabilities have an opportunity to develop, maintain and experience a satisfying leisure involvement with qualified trained staff and volunteers. This brochure highlights some of these specially designed programs. Reasonable accomodations will be made with prior arrangements.
