ABOUT L.A. KIDS:

The L.A. Kids Program is implemented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and funded by a Community Development Block Grant.

Since 1996, L.A. Kids has been providing free recreational opportunities for our City's youth ages 5 -18. It provides our young people a level playing field with equal access to quality recreational programming.

L.A. Kids offers free after-school recreation classes and year-round sports academy programs at 93 eligible recreation centers citywide.

CLASSES:

Funding enables centers to hire instructors and purchase the needed equipment required to offer a wide variety of free quality recreation classes and programs. Activities include but are not limited to: dance, sports, piano, gymnastics, arts and crafts, boxing, tennis, golf, martial arts, drama, cheer leading and after school tutoring.

SPORTS ACADEMY PROGRAMS:

The L.A. Kids Sports Academy provides year-round specialized sports camps and clinics to all eligible centers. Our team features qualified instructors who have played at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. This program offers quality instruction in: Baseball, Girls Softball, Soccer and Basketball.

There are 93 eligible Recreation Centers offering L.A. Kids Programs throughout the greater Los Angeles Area.
