RESIDENTIAL CAMP INFORMATION

The Department provides a wide variety of residential camping opportunities. The Griffith Park Boys' Camp and Hollywoodland Girls' Camp programs offer youth camping experiences, presented by professionally trained camp directors and staff.  Both Griffith Park Boys' Camp and Hollywoodland Girls' Camp facilities are ACA (American Camping Association) accredited and offer beautiful urban forest environments in the middle of Los Angeles. These camps provide sleep-over camping experiences for children ages 6-17.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Griffith Park Boys' Camp and Camp Hollywoodland have a limited amount of camperships available for the summer. Applicants must be residents of the City of Los Angeles and meet other qualifications. Please visit each camp's Web page (on this site) for more information about these summer resident camps for Los Angeles' youth.

ORGANIZED CAMPING OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to youth summer resident camp, there are organized camping opportunities for the young and old.  The City is proud to offer our WOW (Wonderful Outdoor World) program.  The WOW program introduces inner city youth to camping and outdoor recreation through a safe and controlled experience at local recreation centers.

The Camping section also provides Family Camping Weekends at nearby Camp Seeley.  Ten weekends per year are set aside for families and small groups to experience the thrill of nature, with some of the comforts of home. Senior Citizen Outings & Overnights are also available.
