| The Lotus Festival has been supported by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in collaboration with sponsors, vendors, communities, and various participants for 31 years of entertainment, food, and venues for the entire family. The success of the Lotus Festival has attracted an estimated attendance of well over 100,000 people. |

| The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks along with L.A. Lotus Festival Inc. and Lotus Festival Advisory Board have been impacted by the declining economy and due to citywide budgetary cuts the festival will not sustain the upcoming year’s commitments. The Lotus Festival will not be able to expend the amount of money needed to produce the entire event. The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks will collaborate with the Echo Park Chamber of Commerce in hosting the 1st Echo Park Community Festival. |
